Who can get WIC?

  • Pregnant women
  • Women up to 6 months after the end of a pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding women, up to the baby’s first birthday
  • Babies under 1 and children up to their 5th birthday

Pregnant? Count your baby

Federal WIC rules let a pregnant woman add each expected baby to her household size when checking income. A household of 2 expecting one baby is checked against the limit for 3 ($50,542 a year). You can ask the clinic not to count it.

On Medicaid, SNAP or TANF?

Then you meet the income rule without showing pay stubs. If a pregnant woman or baby in the family is on Medicaid, the whole family qualifies on income.

How to apply

Contact your state or local WIC agency to make an appointment. Bring proof of where you live, ID and proof of income or of Medicaid, SNAP or TANF.
